Born in San Francisco on March 29, 1965 Ralph Peter Beyer was inspired by his fathers artistic talent at an early age, his father Peter Paul Beyer immigrated to San Francisco from Germany where he met his wife Ingrid also from Germany in the early 1950’s. R. Beyer often used his fathers wooden easel and painted pictures inspired by Southern California artists of Laguna Beach, he created his palette knife style of oil painting on large canvases in his Sebastopol studio from 1985-2000. Beyer was always inspired by the Northern California coastline that he lived near and visited often, In 1991 the Branscomb art gallery in Bodega Bay, Ca. became interested in Beyer’s paintings and welcomed him to exhibit his paintings. With the encouragement of Ruth Branscomb owner of Branscomb's art Gallery Beyers paintings were admired by visitors to the gallery and his images became popular.
Ralph P Beyer now lives in Windsor, Ca. the west Sonoma county’s wine country and concentrates most of his painting time on images of wineries and vineyard beauty of Healdsburg Ca. while still creating a portion of the northern California coastline art.
